Stored fault pointed at the refrigerator evaporator circuit. Evaporator was frosted solid behind the panel and the defrost heater measured open. Heater and bi-metal replaced, defrost cycle forced through twice, and cabinet temperature confirmed stable at 38 °F after a four-hour recheck.

Both igniters were fouled with spillover and one spark electrode had shifted out of position. Burner caps and electrodes cleaned, electrode gap reset to spec, gas pressure checked at the manifold. One cracked electrode was on order, so the return visit closed it out the next day.

Drain path was restricted at the sump filter and the check valve was holding partly open. Filter assembly and sump cleared, valve replaced, drain hose loop corrected at the cabinet. Full cycle run on site to confirm the machine drained and completed without stopping.

Small matters here. The technician who takes your appointment is the one who arrives, and the same person carries the job through to the recheck — there is no call center in between and no handover between visits when a part has to be ordered. It also means we turn down work we are not right for: if a fault needs a factory-only tool or a board nobody can still source, we say so on the first visit rather than charging for a second one.

Diagnosis starts with reproducing the fault, not with replacing parts. On a refrigerator that means measuring actual temperatures in both compartments, checking airflow across the evaporator, and testing the compressor start relay before anyone talks about the sealed system. On a washer it means running a short cycle to see which stage fails, then checking the drain pump, door lock and pressure switch in that order.
